Levira still eyeing Brexit opportunities

The Tallinn-based digital services company Levira is still actively looking for business opportunities in the post-Brexit TV market, according to its chairman of the board Tiit Tammiste.

Quoted in a statement on the company’s performance in 2018, he added that this is through offering international TV channels the opportunity to work on Estonian broadcasting licences.

Furthermore, Tammiste said that in the field of media services Viacom and Tallinn TV added new customers in 2018, while several customers, including Discovery and Viasat, launched additional services.

He added that in the field of network services, following an agreement with Estonian National Broadcasting the coverage of ETV+ was expanded to the whole of Estonia and the transition to HD agreed.

Tammiste also said that, “in recent years, Levira has focused on technological innovations, providing customers with more and more active services based on the Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). The expansion of the data center of Levira also revealed the IT services segment”.

Levira had consolidated revenues of €10.1 million and an operating profit of €2.2 million last year. It also invested €1.9 million, mostly in TV and distribution networks and in the development of TV production and hosting services.

Levira’s export services accounted for 27% of revenues, with the UK, Sweden and Latvia having the largest share of foreign markets.

The company, which is owned by the Republic of Estonia (51%) and France’s TDF (49%), is forecasting a 10% growth in sales and 30% increase in profits this year.
