ProSiebenSat.1 and Discovery are extending the management of their joint streaming service around CEO Alexandar Vassilev, scheduled to launch in summer 2019.
Katja Hofem, currently COO of ProSiebenSat.1 TV Deutschland and managing director of ProSiebenSat.1 TV Deutschland for small channels and new channel development, will join the management board on March 15, 2019. Her responsibilities include the development and production of new formats as well as programme purchasing. In addition, the 48-year-old will be responsible for the strategically optimised distribution of TV and on-demand content in cooperation with the channel partners. Hofem will also handle all marketing issues and partner management.
Jochen Cassel, previously managing director of ProSiebenSat.1 Digital, will join the management board as CFO on April 1, 2019. He will also be responsible for legal and human resources.
Constanze Gilles, most recently Vice President Partner Channels at Sky Deutschland, will take over the distribution and partnerships division as Senior Vice President with immediate effect. In her role, she will be responsible for expanding the distribution and platform partnerships and the development of growth strategies.
The new, still nameless streaming platform will replace the current joint venture 7TV and integrate the previously independent services maxdome and Eurosport Player. With their initiative, which is open to all public and commercial broadcasters, ProSiebenSat.1 and Discovery want to create a central German streaming platform for TV and on-demand content.
