The Arbitration Court of St Petersburg and the Leningrad Region has ruled that subscribers to Tricolor TV have the right to pay for only the channels that interest them.

According to AKTR and Fontanka, they can currently access the platform’s additional programme packages only after paying for its basic package.

Following a complaint by a subscriber to the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnazor), the court concluded that the actions of the National Satellite Company, the operator of Tricolor TV, were in violation of the legislation on consumer protection.

Tricolor TV is the leading pay-TV operator in Russia and has over 12 million subscribers.

Its basic package consists of 220 TV channels and 48 radio stations and costs R2,000 (€26.1) a year.
